02What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry and run our business:
- Contact details — name, phone number, email, postcode.
- Project details — appointment preference, budget range, timeline, property type, and anything you tell us about your bathroom.
- Photos & videos — any media you upload through the booking form to help us quote.
- WhatsApp messages — if you message us via WhatsApp, the message content and your phone number arrive at our WhatsApp Business account.
- Website usage — anonymised analytics about which pages were visited, only if you accept analytics cookies (see our Cookies Policy).
03How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a showroom visit, phone consultation or home / site survey, and prepare a quote.
- To deliver the bathroom design or installation you've agreed to.
- To keep records of jobs, invoices and warranties.
- To improve our website and the experience visitors have on it.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for unrelated marketing without your clear consent.
04Lawful basis
- Contract— for everything required to deliver a bathroom project once you've engaged us.
- Legitimate interests — for replying to enquiries, internal record-keeping, and protecting our business.
- Consent — for analytics cookies (you choose at the cookie banner) and for any optional marketing emails (you opt in explicitly).
- Legal obligation — for accounting and tax records we have to keep by law.
05Who we share it with
We only share your data with the third parties needed to run the business. Each is a “data processor” that handles information on our behalf:
- Resend — delivers our enquiry confirmation and admin alert emails.
- Neon — hosts the database where lead records are stored (EU region).
- Amazon Web Services — hosts our website and stores uploaded photos in S3 (EU region).
- WhatsApp / Meta — when you message us through WhatsApp.
- Google — Google Business Profile reviews (you publish these yourself), and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
- Trusted tradespeople— once you've engaged us, we share the minimum information needed for the fitter to complete the work (name, address, scope of job).
We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
06International transfers
Most of our processors are in the UK or EU. Where data is sent outside the UK (for example, parts of Google's analytics infrastructure), the provider is bound by Standard Contractual Clauses or another transfer mechanism approved under UK GDPR.
07How long we keep it
- Lead enquiries that don't convert — up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Customers we have worked with — for the warranty period plus 7 years (HMRC record-keeping requirement).
- Marketing email subscribers — until you unsubscribe.
- Website analytics — anonymised aggregate data, kept up to 14 months by Google Analytics.
08Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased (where we're not legally required to keep it).
- Object to or restrict how we use it.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, email brightbathrooms@hotmail.com or write to us at the address above. We'll respond within 30 days.
09Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies — read our full Cookies Policy for the detail and how to control them.
10Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office:
- Online: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
